Texans Bring In Brett Hundley For A Visit

The Houston Texans have made several moves in regards to the quarterback position this offseason, but that may not mean they are done. On Monday it was reported that the team was bringing in former UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley for a visit.

Hundley was thought to be a first round pick in 2014, when it was believed he would leave college early. Instead he opted to return and his draft stock seemed to take a hit based on his 2014 season at UCLA.

The reason for the souring on him seems odd based on the season he had. The Bruin quarterback finished with 3,155 yards with 22 touchdowns and only five interceptions. The dual-threat passer also rushed for ten more scores while racking up 644 yards in his final collegiate season.

Despite the impressive stats, the belief seems to be that Hundley will go sometime in the second round of the upcoming draft. The knock on him is his inability to quickly read defenses or push the ball downfield consistently.

Brett would most likely need some time to develop, which he could do in Houston where they have quarterbacks Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett both on two-year deals. His athleticism and potential makes him an intriguing prospect if he winds up being available when Houston is on the clock in round two.
