The best power rankings of all the national media, in my opinion, is the CBS Sports NFL Power Rankings by senior NFL Columnist Pete Prisco, and this week he moved the Houston Texans up seven spots on his rankings list.

Prisco has the Texans 24th overall, after they defeated the Washington Redskins, 17-6 in Week 1, and here is what he wrote on the team:

"“They didn’t do a lot on offense, but the defense came up big against the Redskins. J.J. Watt is a beast.”"

He is right about Watt, who was a beast in the season opener, and I don’t expect anything less than a performance like he had in that game when they face the Oakland Raiders this Sunday.

As for the rest of the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts were the highest-rated team in the division at 16th, followed by the Tennessee Titans at 19th and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 31st.

Looking at his AFC South rankings, I will say I have to agree. I was disappointed in the Colts’ offense, as it was evident Andrew Luck doesn’t have much help. In fact, if the Colts didn’t have Luck at QB, I honestly don’t know if they are a Top 30 team in the NFL.

The Titans will mostly likely be a 15-30 team all season, and the Jaguars won’t be much higher than they are right now all season, though their young offensive players will be fun to watch.

The Raiders were the lowest-rated team in 32nd overall. The No. 1 team on Prisco’s list was the Denver Broncos.
