At least Jadeveon Clowney, the Houston Texans No. 1 overall draft pick, was back on the field this weekend, the first time since having sports hernia surgery.
In an article by CSN Houston this weekend it said of Clowney and being back in practice:
“Clowney was limited in practice and said he isn’t yet 100 percent healthy. He was asked to put a number on his health but declined.”
It will be really interesting in see how much and fast Clowney can progress and recover during training camp with the first preseason game for the Texans taking place on Aug. 9 at the Arizona Cardinals.
If Clowney can stay healthy and be ready for the regular season … that’s when we’ll see what Cloweny can bring to the Texans and their defense that struggled last season.
Like I’ve been saying since before the Texans drafted Clowney in May … he can help put this defense over the top, but it will just come down to how healthy he can stay this season.
For Cloweny, it isn’t whether he can succeed in the NFL, it will all come down to his health before and during the season. I believe that is what will matter most for the No. 1 draft pick.
