The Toro Times hopes everyone has a great Independence Day weekend, but now it is time to get back to the business of football.

Since we are all in a bit of a slow period with the Houston Texans, there was an NFL story that caught my attention from over the weekend with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon being arrested for DWI in North Carolina.

Gordon, a former Baylor wide receiver, was already possibly facing a year long suspension due to his failed drug tests by the NFL, so it looks like he won’t be playing for the Browns anytime soon.

In an article on Ultimate Texans, it stated on Gordon:

"“Gordon reportedly failed another drug test during the offseason, which could lead to a season-long ban. In May, he was ticketed for speeding and a passenger in his car was cited for marijuana possession. He pleaded not guilty and has a hearing in the case scheduled for next Friday.”"

I hope for his sake he learns for this entire situation, and gets the help he needs so he can live a productive life off the field, because he’s really messing with his not just his football life, but his off-the-field life in a very bad way.
