Mike Mayock has Texans selecting Jadeveon Clowney

NFL Network analyst and draft expert Mike Mayock released his one and only 2014 NFL Mock Draft Wednesday night, having the Houston Texans selecting South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney No. 1 overall.

In his reasoning on why he has the Texans selecting Clowney, he writes:

“Both Khalil Mack and Clowney fit here, but the upside of Clowney will sway Houston. He’s the most talented defensive lineman on the planet, including NFL players. If he wants to be it, he’s got a chance.”

I like this pick, and don’t have a problem with it at all.

This is the smartest pick for the Texans at this point, and if they don’t select Clowney with the No. 1 overall pick, they will be making a big mistake in my book.

Also in his draft, he has the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting Khalil Mack (LB, Buffalo) at No. 3, and Johnny Manziel falling to No. 16 overall to the Dallas Cowboys.

Thoughts on Mayock’s selection for the Texans?
