NFL Draft 2014: Johnny Manziel is the most interesting prospect

Johnny Manziel is the most interesting player in the 2014 NFL Draft.

If he’s not the most interesting, he’s the most mysterious, because he could end up being the best player in this draft, or he could be a complete bust.

That, to me, makes him the most interesting player on the entire draft board.

Manziel could come into the league and not only make the Houston Texans a better team, but any team that drafts him better instantly.

Even though he didn’t miss a game in his two college seasons, one has to question his durability from his style of play, because the NFL is an entire different monster than the SEC.

Future Star or Bust?

I’m not saying Manziel’s style can’t work in the NFL, because it can. Steve Young became a Hall of Famer by playing the scrambling type of QB, and in his day, Fran Tarkenton was a Hall of Fame QB used his legs and took a lot of punishment.

I know Manziel showed he can throw from the pocket this past collegiate season, and he’s worked on his game this offseason, but I can’t help but still have my worries about taking him with the No. 1 pick.

I’ve said many times, I could be wrong about my thoughts on Manziel, but I could end up being right as well.

More from Houston Texans Draft

That’s what makes this entire process so great … anyone of these players in the draft can become the next great NFL player, no matter if they are the No. 1 pick or an undrafted free agent.

On FanSided’s NFL Mocks site, following the pro day of Manziel their article stated they were sold on Manziel:

"“He admires those players like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady who work so hard to be the best in the league, and that he desires to be considered among the best players to play the game as well. His work habits seem to reflect that.”"

This is why I love so much about the draft and sports debate, I don’t agree with Manziel being the best QB in this draft or being the No. 1 pick, but I understand why others believe that he is.

But, even I come back to Manziel in the back of my mind and the “What If” question about him. This is why I believe he’s the most interesting player in this draft, and come draft day on Thursday, May 8 he’ll be the most talked about player at Radio City Music Hall.
