Houston Texans Roundup (4/22): Mock drafts and more

In his fourth mock draft released on Monday, Houston Chronicle NFL reporter John McClain has the Houston Texans selecting South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with the No. 1 overall selection, for the second consecutive mock draft.

McClain wrote about the choice:

“If you don’t believe defense wins championships, just ask the Seahawks.”

McClain is 100-percent correct in that assessment, as that rang true this past season when the best defense in the NFL completely dominated the best offense in the Super Bowl.

If the Texans don’t select Clowney with the No. 1 overall selection, I think they would leave a big “What If” with this franchise for years to come, because an opportunity of having two defensive ends like Clowney and J.J. Watt doesn’t come around too often in the NFL.

Plus, wouldn’t that be fun to watch on a weekly basis?

In other Texans news:
