Houston Texans offseason program starts Monday

The Houston Chronicle has a post on their Ultimate Texans blog stating the Houston Texans begin their voluntary offseason program on Monday.

The Ultimate Texans article states:

“Only the strength and conditioning coaches can be on the field during the first two weeks … Coach Bill O’Brien and the remainder of his assistants get involved in phase two of the program.”

This feels like football season is finally getting a little closer with this schedule. The team still has the draft to worry about, as nobody seems to know who the Texans will be drafting.

If I were to guess, my choices are narrowed down to either South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles.

Those are the only two realistic choices I see the Texans leaning towards, but like before, I still believe Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could be in the running as well, and we can’t forget about Johnny Manziel.

As for the offseason dates, the first mandatory minicamp for O’Brien’s Texans will be June 17-19.

Stephen your such a Johnny hater…Your a HOMER…EVERY article you “pen” regarding the draft and picks you literally take a jab at Johnny…The guy can ball…Did he bang your wife or something? Whats with all the hate?

I honestly don’t hate Johnny, I really don’t. I just like Bortles or Clowney better. You are right, he can ball, I just hope it transfers over to the NFL. I really do wish him the best, because if his talents do transfer over to the NFL, he’d be a breath of fresh air for the league. I’ll work on toning down my “jabs.”
