Are the Houston Texans trying to trade the No. 1 overall pick?

Bleacher Report NFL Columnist Dan Pompei wrote in a Thursday column the following about the Houston Texans :

“Word from the NFL meetings is the Texans are trying hard to deal the first pick in the draft. They want to move down and acquire extra selections. Sources say they might have a trade partner in the Bills, who appear interested in moving up.”

If this is true and were to happen … that does make for an interesting scenario for the Texans in the draft.

It is no secret the Texans do need to build some depth with this team. They need to add another offensive tackle and they will be drafting a QB sometime in the draft, so trading the No. 1 overall selection wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.

I have mixed feelings about this news, as I believe if the Texans do keep the No. 1 overall selection they will get the best player possible. If they were to trade down in the draft, their first round choice would still be a mystery and not guaranteed to be the player they truly want.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of the Texans trading down in the draft? Let us know.
