No. 10 Oregon has 12 players listed on the CBS Draft Board with one player in cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu projected to be selected in the first round, while there are three players projected in the fifth rounds and five others projected to be selected in the sixth or seventh rounds.

The player I want to preview is defensive end Taylor Hart, a 6-6, 287-pound senior, as he’s one of the fifth-round projections and the 16th-rated DE on the list.

Hart has been timed with a 4.92 40-yard dash and was a coaches’ second-team All Pac-12 selection as he collected 64 tackles this season.

His draft page on CBS says the following as a strength to his game:

“Much better athlete than he looks. Surprisingly quick off the snap, uncoiling to knock would-be blockers onto their heels and showing good power for the bull-rush to collapse the pocket. Good lateral agility and balance to ‘play the keys’ down the line of scrimmage.”

If the Texans don’t draft a DE with their No. 1 overall selection, Hart could be a very good value in the fifth round. I’d like to see more from the Texans’ defense next season, as I believe they took a step back in 2013 from where they were in 2012.
