Report: Houston Texans to hire head coach ‘by Tuesday’

Nov 17, 2012; University Park, PA, USA; Penn State Nittany Lions head coach Bill O

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning the Houston Texans could or want to have their head coach hired by this Tuesday.

Rapoport was reported saying on NFL.com by Kevin Patra the following:

“The organization plans to wrap up its coaching search by Tuesday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Saturday, per sources familiar with the team’s thinking.”

The article also stated:

“Rapoport reported Sunday on NFL Network’s “NFL GameDay First” that the Texans will interview Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt, per sources.”

It seems like the Texans want to get their had coach in place before other teams even begin their search, which is a smart move by the team.

Like I said before, I really believe in Bill O’Brien and his abilities to lead a football team.

I think he’s the right coach for the job in Houston as he’s proven he can coach in the NFL by not only the miracle work he did for Penn State by keeping their program alive, but by his work as an offensive coordinator during his stint with the New England Patriots.

O’Brien is ready to be an NFL head coach and he and the Texans can be a good fit for each other. His potential hire could give the Texans the “spark” they’ve needed and lacked all season.
