Thursday was a big day for the Houston Texans with the announcement of Case Keenum being selected as the starting quarterback to replace injured starting quarterback Matt Schaub this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Drew Daugherty of the Official Houston Texans site wrote in an article titled: “Texans on news that Case Keenum to start at QB,”
“Head coach Gary Kubiak announced the decision to the team during a Thursday morning meeting. Keenum got the starter’s reps during the afternoon practice …”
In the Houston Chronicle, in the article, “Case Keenum gets vote of confidence from Texans’ teammates” by John McClain, he wrote:
“Case Keenum’s teammates lined up to offer support for a quarterback set to make his NFL debut when the Texans travel to Kansas City on Sunday.”
In the same article, he quoted starting offensive tackle Duane Brown saying, “He’s got a lot of talent. He’s got a big arm, and he’s mobile.”
Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com wrote an article titled, “Lessons for Texans from Tim Tebow experiment,”
“See what Keenum can do, some said. And the Texans have done just that. As they work through this week and go forward, the Texans can take lessons from another team’s quarterback situation.”
Yoni Pollak of House of Houston today wrote about D.J. Swearinger getting the start at safety this Sunday.
