Here is a funny (at least to me), but interesting tweet by free agent quarterback Vince Young, the former No. 1 overall draft pick that was geared towards the Houston Texans.

I love how he speaks in the third person on Twitter, but is he even good enough anymore to be a backup in the NFL, much less a starter?

I highly doubt it. I mean, he couldn’t even stay on the Green Bay Packers’ roster, and their backup quarterback doesn’t even play, ever.

Would you want an NFL quarterback on your roster that has the following career stats:

– 8,964 yards passing

– 57.9 completion percentage

– 6.87 yards per pass

– 46 touchdown passes

– 755-1,304 overall in attempts to completions

– 51 interceptions

– 19 fumbles

– 58.1 QBR

– Listed at 7 seasons in the NFL

Should the Texans try him out, just to see … maybe during a bye week? Not this week when they need to worry about their upcoming game with the Kansas City Chiefs … the undefeated Chiefs at that.

I really enjoyed watching Young when he was in college playing for the University of Texas, but that was a long time ago, and he’s had plenty of chances in the NFL to prove himself.

Do the Texans really need another distraction at quarterback? Do they need to create another QB controversy?

I’m saying no they don’t.

I doubt anything ever comes of this, and I don’t think he would make any type of difference one way or another with the way the Texans’ offense is playing this season. Still, that tweet can make a person think if nothing else.
