Texans vs. 49ers: Brian Cushing DNP; mid-week injury report released

After suffering a concussion last weekend, Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing was listed on the did not participate portion of the mid-week injury report yesterday.

Besides Cushing being listed, there were a total of 10 players placed on the DNP list for the Texans, including players such as tight end Owen Daniels and wide receiver Andre Johnson due to rest reasons. Defensive end J.J. Watt was on the DNP list with groin/nose issues.

Others who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice were guard Brandon Brooks (toe), linebacker Tim Dobbins (hamstring), fullback Greg Jones (foot/groin), cornerback Johnathan Joseph (rest) and guard Wade Smith (knee).

The San Francisco 49ers have wide receiver Quinton Patton listed as out with a foot injury.

One plus on the injury list was offensive tackle Duane Brown was listed with limited participation due to his turf toe injury. Brown has missed the past two games (both losses) with the injury.

Also limited on Wednesday was linebacker Bryan Braman (hamstring), center Chris Myers (biceps) and safety Ed Reed (hip).

The 49ers had tackle Anthony Davis (shoulder) listed as DNP in their mid-week injury report.

There were seven players listed on the injury report with full participation in practice including running backs Arian Foster (thumb/back) and Ben Tate (shoulder).

Those also on the full participation list were tight end Garrett Graham (hip), cornerback Brice McCain (knee), tackle Derek Newton (knee), safety Eddie Pleasant (hamstring) and wide receiver DeVier Posey (achilles).

San Francisco had seven players listed as limited in practice including tight end Vernon Davis who returned to game action last week with a hamstring issue, and linebacker Patrick Willis with a groin injury. Defensive tackle Justin Smith was listed with a shoulder injury.
