The Houston Texans placed starting running back Arian Foster on the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list Thursday as the Texans’ players reported to training camp.
Foster rushed for 1,424 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. For his career, he’s rushed for 4,521 yards and 44 touchdowns in four seasons.
The Associated Press is reporting that Foster strained his right calf early in organized team activities, so he’ll start camp on the PUP list. The AP also stated the Texans said then that he should be ready for training camp.
In other moves, inside linebacker Darryl Sharpton was placed on the active/non-football injury list and Garrett Graham was placed on the active/non-football illness list.
Others placed on the PUP list were DeVier Posey (WR) and Ed Reed (S) as both are recovering from injuries.
The Texans also signed Elber Mack, a six-year player from Troy, and Daniel Muir, a seven-year nose tackle from Kent State.
Sam Montgomery, a rookie outside linebacker, passed his physical and was removed from the NFI list. Brennan Williams, a rookie offensive tackle, was removed from the PUP list.
Phillip Supernaw, a tight end, was waved after one season.
