Announced just an hour ago by Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com, inside linebacker Tim Dobbins has landed on the injury reserve list. This was after being limited in practice for the past few days with an ankle injury.

With Dobbins lost for the season, Barrett Ruud will take over the starting role. Rookie linebacker Cameron Collins has been signed from the practice squad to add depth.

Ruud has recording 16 tackles and a sack in limited time this season. Ruud’s career started in Tampa Bay in 2005, but has since played for Tennessee and New Orleans. While he finished strong in Tampa Bay, his play has eroded over time. Filling in for Cushing and now Dobbins, Ruud has a chance to show the Houston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals if he can still play at a high level this Saturday.
