I thought the reason Galveston had so many housing developments was because we also had free, indigent medical care at the University of Texas Medical Branch. People came here for health care and simply stayed, knowing that we had programs for housing, food, health care, etc.

In March, running back Arian Foster, a former undrafted free agent, signed a five-year, $43.5 million contract extension with the Houston Texans. It was a well deserved raise; since coming into the league in 2009, he’s rushed for 3,097 yards and 29 touchdowns. That includes a 2010 rushing title and another 1,224 yards (4.4 YPC) last season.

Backup Houston Texans offensive lineman Derek Newton was slow getting up during a drill in Wednesday’s practice, but when he heard about Duane Brown was taken off the field due to an injury he knew at that point he needed to prove himself:
