Marvin Lewis: “a player doesn’t need to take a dozen Gatorades home in his backpack”

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis decided to comment back to Houston Texans CB Jonathan Joseph about Gatorade (yes, the offseason is quiet!):

“I was told this morning about Johnathan’s comments that were printed,” Lewis said in a Wednesday chat on Cincinnati.com.  ”It’s my fault that I feel that a playerdoesn’t need to take a dozen Gatorades home in his backpack each night and that we are paying him a salary.  I’m sure that Johnathan would not have been one of the abusive players but it is my policy.” – (Pro Football Talk)

Are you sure that Jonathan would not have been one of the abusers? He loves the free stuff at Houston!

Thanks for clearing up the situation Coach! YOU are the reason that Jonathan could not get a little extra electrolytes during the season. Can you tell me about the deodorant and soap now? How about sharing rooms?

If the Bengals win the Super Bowl (laughed as I wrote that), don’t pour out and waste the Gatorade on Coach Lewis!
