Schaub and his wife, Laurie, presented a $200,000 check to the Texas Children’s Hospital on Monday, a donation through the couple’s Gr8 Hope Foundation. Schaub wears No. 8. Last year, the couple raised $108,000 for a playroom at the hospital’s campus west of Houston and this year’s donation is earmarked for the hospital’s child life development program.

I think coaches and GMs would like to have a team that can rely on its offense and defense equally. (I know they love to say special teams is a third of things. Count the plays. It’s a much smaller piece.)

The Texans’ schedule of practices open to the public during training camp at the team’s practice fields beside Reliant Stadium in Houston. All times are CT:

The Houston Texans    rank among the top 50 most valuable global sports franchises, with a value of $1.2 billion, a new report shows.

As the Houston Texans gear up for training camp, the future of quarterback Matt Schaub seems heavy on everyone’s minds: Schaub is entering the last year of his contract after a Lisfranc injury sidelined him for the season after 10 games (and a 7-3 start) in 2011.
