Matt Schaub has been cleared by the medics for training camp. Last season, Schaub injured his foot in week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was replaced by Matt Leinart. The Leinart project quickly fizzed out and the Texans had to turn to T.J. Yates to run the offense.

Yates led the team to their first playoff birth and their first playoff win, but the offense is much more potent with Schaub slinging the rock. Schaub is in a contract year and the expectations are high for the team this year. Getting cleared for training camp is the first step to getting back on the field and putting up big numbers.
