Non-Texan Take: Confererence Championships

Baltimore @ New England: Sun., Jan. 22, 3:00 PM ET CBS

The Ravens are a team fully-capable of stomping the New England Patriots, and their defense matches up extremely well against Tom Brady. This game could go either way, as both squads are notoriously inconsistent. Baltimore comes off a +5 turnover battle against Houston, but expect them to regress to the mean. Belichick isn’t easy to beat in Foxboro.

Prediction: New England

New York Giants @ San Francisco: Sun., Jan. 22, 6:30 PM ET FOX

Can we call this the Momentum Bowl? The Giants retain their crown as the hottest team in the league after knocking off what many considered the Super Bowl favorites, and the 9ers come off of an extremely emotional victory last weekend to return to Candlestick for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. Both teams are at the top of their game, but the Giants have a higher peak. Eli should put up some yardage against San Francisco, and the defense should do just enough to win and force a Super Bowl XLII rematch.

Prediction: New York Giants
