Houston Texans: Who Will Fill In Andre Johnson’s Spot?

Other than TE Owen Daniels it is safe to say that the Texans receiving core is sub par, but there is definitely potential.

WR Kevin Walter and WR Jacoby Jones each had their one break out year, but ever since then they have not produced. It seems that TE James Casey and TE Joel Dreesen tend to out produce our entire receiving core. Grant it that may be due to Gary Kubiaks love for a two TE package, but still. New Texan WR Bryant Johnson and resigned WR David Anderson need to step up in their new roles more than ever. It never made sense to me how the entire receiving core doesn’t do better with a QB like Matt Schaub, the best WR in the league, and one of the best running games in the league (and last year we had the best!).

I see Daniels and Jones production going up the most, but I do expect Kubiak to be run heavy until Johnson comes back. This is especially due to the fact Tennessee and Baltimore each have a top 10 pass defense, the only game I see us passing is this week against the 22nd ranked pass defense in Oakland.  With WR Andre Johnson out I see Jacoby Jones and Bryant Johnson filling in at the Johnsons spot, and them placing speedy Anderson in the slot.
