Houston Texans: Half-Time Update

Well folks, the new season is upon us and the Texans’ first match-up with the Indianapolis  Colts is halfway done. All I can say is “WOW!” Nobody, I repeat nobody, saw this coming! The Texans are outplaying the Colts in all aspects of the game. The Texans’ defense has already forced two fumbles for losses, have two sacks, and have allowed the Colts to gain less than 100 total yards thus far.

Offensively the Texans looked like they have never missed a beat. QB Matt Schaub has hooked up with Andre Johnson, Joel Dreesen, James Casey, Owen Daniels, Jacoby Jones AND Kevin Walter for 162 yards and a TD. Ben Tate and Derrick Ward have combined for 100 yards of rushing and another two TDs.

Anybody who still questioned Mario Williams’ ability to play at OLB is now on the edge of their seat as Mario has one of the two defense sacks and has brought constant pressure to Colts QB Kerry Collins. DE J.J. Watt’s motor has been running on high for the first half – he has two tackles and a fumble recovery already.

If you had doubts before this game, you can put them to rest…the second half is about to start, I have to go!
