Texans Versus 49ers to Resemble Regular Season Opener?

Obviously the opponent will be different but expect Saturdays game against the San Francisco 49ers to look a lot like the regular season opener against the Colts. Of course there is a good chance from the Indianapolis side of the ball a certain pro bowl QB, by name of Payton Manning, won’t be lining up against the Texans for once in the Texans franchise history.

After Yesterdays practice session Coach Kubiak told the media, “We will spot-play some guys in the first three quarters as if we were playing a regular season game, so we will do that like we operate on opening day. That’ll be interesting to see how those guys come in and swap play with the ones. Just to get a bunch of reps, we need to go out there and get 45, 50 snaps as an offense and defense and see how we do.”

Expect to see at times outside linebacker Brooks Reed coming in and working with first team defense in order to spell Connor Barwin and/or Mario Williams at times. More fans have been clamoring for Reed to get more reps with the first teamers and this coudl be the Ex-Arizona Wildcats chance to do just that.
