Expect More of Terrance Toliver on Special Teams

Houston Texans Coach Gary Kubiak’s most recent comments on undrafted rookie Lestar Jean: “His reps have picked up. He’s going to play more in the game.”

It’s beginning to look as if Jean could be pulling ahead of fellow rookie free agents Jeff Maehl and Terrence Toliver. Look for Toliver to get a chance to play more on special teams against the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.

Special teams will be the key factor for, Terrance Toliver, the 6’5″ rookie from LSU. Lestar Jean seems to have the inside track on a roster spot after Monday nights 28 yard catch from rookie QB T.J. Yates that set-up the game winning touchdown.

Toliver will need to really step up his game against the Saints and display almost anything the Texans coaching staff can deem as a positive sign toward game play progress. Look for Toliver to maintain a legitimate shot of making the team if he is able to show up in a big way Saturday night.
