Non-Texans Related NFL News: Reggie Bush to be Swimming with Dolphins?

While everyone was fast asleep in comfortable beds some of us were still up late scouring for anything a Houston Texans fan could get excited about during the negotiating period allowed between free agent players and teams. Needless to say our attempts were rendered futile.

While there is an absence of news for the Texans faithful to be excited about we did come across a report from Fox Sports, Jay Glazer that the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints have negotiated a trade deal for running back and former Kim Kardashian beau Reggie Bush.

Bush has found himself on the trading block twice now within the past two seasons. After the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl for the 2009 season Bush was traded by Kim Kardashian and now is being traded by the Saints.

Other than Bush’s rookie season in which he only started eight games but was active for all sixteen, Bush has yet to remain healthy enough to play a full season. Bush is considered a threat to take it to the house any time he touches the ball but being healthy enough to touch the ball while remaining on the field seems to be the Achilles Heel for Bush.

All quips aside Bush has displayed a knack for catching the ball out of the backfield and even lining up on the line of scrimmage in order to take advantage of a one on one match-ups with typically slower linebacker.

If The Dolphins severe ties with both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams it seems Bush will be the complementary back the Dolphins must have along side rookie running back Daniel Thomas.

Before the trade is given the green light Reggie Bush must come to terms on a new contract with the Dolphins. Bush’s current contract has him at an $11.8M for the season with a $16M salary cap number.

Trade compensation has not been identified as of yet so it’s unclear as to what exactly the New Orleans Saints will receive in return.
