As the NFL Lockout draws closer and closer to an end. The free agent talk is beginning to heat up. Free agents to be are burning up airwaves talking about potential landing destinations.
And free agent safety to be Gerald Sensabaugh is no exception. Speaking with ESPNDallas early today Sensabaugh talked about ultimately landing back in Dallas but with the Cowboys reportedly being any where from $16M to $19M over the projected $120M salary cap it doesn’t seem likely that Sensabaugh will be returning. Especially considering that Sensabaugh had this to say about if he expects to receive an offer somewhere in the neighborhood of the $1.8M he has made the past two seasons, “No, no, no, no,” Sensabaugh said, laughing. “Not in the same zip code.”
So when confronting Dallas’ potential salary cap situation Sensabaugh played his cards in regards to the Houston Texans by saying, “I could definitely see that if Dallas doesn’t work out,” Sensabaugh said, “Wade’s a good guy, I already know his system and it would be an easy transition for me. I wouldn’t have to learn anything new, and at the same time, I’d be able to help the other guys learn Wade’s system. I could see that becoming an option.”
There is a sense in the air that NFL football is right around the corner and by the end of next week we should know whether or not the Texans end up with both Gerald Sensabaugh and Anotnio Cromartie starting in the secondary during the 2011 campaign.
