Texans’ Foster Runs Away With NFL Strongest Performance ESPY

Arian Foster with his ESPY.

Last night during the ESPY awards show Arian Foster went from once upon a time undrafted free agent to ESPY award winner. Foster who had been nominated for three Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards actually won only one ESPY.

Foster had been nominated for awards in the categories of  Best NFL player, Breakthrough Athlete category, and actually winning for the NFL Strongest Performance Award category.

Foster won for his 231-yard, three-touchdown rushing performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 of last season. It was the second-best opening day rushing performance in NFL history, set a franchise single-game rushing record and was the most yards rushing ever by a Colts opponent.

Let’s hope in 2011 Foster can help the Houston Texans win a AFC playoff birth. An actual achievement we know Arian Foster would much rather be recognized for.
