Should the Houston Texans Toss Caution to the Wind?

Due to a prior knee injury and a sharply rising salary, last years release of then Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson came as a surprise to no one.

Houston then attempted to make a concerted push to land free-agent cornerback Leigh Bodden to no avail as the Texans ultimately lost out as Bodden remained with the New England Patriots.

The end result of these two actions was the drafting of Alabama cornerback Kareem jackson and the worst secondary in the NFL in 2010. Now the Texans are indeed prepared to be aggressive in free agency according to league sources, and will be among the teams pursuing All-Pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

While we here at Toro Times have Asomugha along with an NFL Lockout resolution on our early July christmas lists, we think the Texans signing Asomugha has even less of a chance than the lockout leeches lawyers coming to a resolution by the weeks end.

We could be wrong and that would be a win win for the Texans and the raging fanatics of Houston…or should the Texans be worried? Especially at $19 million a year!
