Kareem Jackson expected to begin contract talks with Texans

According to FOXSportsHouston.com, 1st round pick Kareem Jackson and the Texans are set to begin negotiations on a contract.

With training camp just over one week away, Texans first round pick Kareem Jackson and the team are scheduled to begin negotiations on a contract today.

Jackson, contacted while training in Florida, said talks between his agent and the Texans should get underway today. Jackson is represented by Tony Fleming.

“I met with my agent yesterday and they said they’re going to start talking to them today,” Jackson said Thursday. “Hopefully I’ll hear back a little later today and see some of the things they discussed.”

With Dunta Robinson leaving earlier this offseason  for Atlanta, rookie (Kareem) Jackson stepping in for him, and training camp only 8 days away, it may be critical that Jackson is signed and ready for the first day of camp.
