Steve McNair was laid to rest Saturday as almost 5,000 turned out for the former NFL star’s funeral in his home town of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Among the NFL players present to pay their final respects were Ray Lewis, Brett Favre, Vince Young and many others.
Police have determined that McNair was shot, most likely while he was sleeping, by the second victim, Sahel Kazemi in an apparent murder-suicide. McNair had been dating the 20 year old waitress for some time.

More developments on the Steve McNair homicide investigation:
Police have determined that the pistol found at the scene had been purchased two days prior by Sahel Kazemi.
Police have been reluctant to rule on Kazemi’s death because they are still seeking a motive.

Police have officially ruled Steve McNair’s death as a homicide. They have also publicly identified the other deceased at the crime scene as Saleh Kazemi, a woman whom McNair had apparently been dating for several months. The police have yet to rule the cause of death for the second victim. They have not yet however ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide.
It is becoming apparent that McNair was in a romantic relationship with this woman and that the early feeling is that he died in a “lover’s quarrel.”

Former Houston Oiler/Tennesee Titan and Baltimore Raven quarterback Steve McNair was found dead in his Nashville home on Saturday along with another woman who has yet to be identified. Details surrounding his death are still unclear.
McNair was universally regarded as one of toughest players in the league throughout his distinguished career. He was the #3 overall pick in the 1995 out of Alcorn State.
